Izzy Ampil was born in the Bronx and now lives in Brooklyn. She is, among other things, an editor at Blank Forms, a fact-checker at The Paris Review and The American Scholar, and a writer.
In 2021, Izzy earned a BA in English Literature with Honors in the Arts from Stanford University. Since then, her writing has been supported by BuzzFeed News, where she was a 2022-23 Culture & Criticism Fellow; the Asian American Writers' Workshop, where she is a 2024-25 Margins Fellow in Fiction; and Millay Arts, where she was a Writer-in-Residence in September 2024.
Izzy is currently at work on a novel and a story collection. In the meantime, you can read her fiction, essays, criticism, and reportage at Notch, Reboot, the Wall Street Journal, the Daily Beast, the Roanoke Review, and elsewhere.
